KSN

Greeting

Dear members of the
Korean Society of Neonatology,

Our society, founded in October 1993, as the only domestic society for neonatology in Korea, has its roots in the 'Neonatolgy Meeting' held in November 1986. Throughout the years, we have a rich history of research and education in the field of neonatology in Korea.

I would like to express my deep gratitude to all the members, past presidents, and board members who have worked tirelessly for the advancement of our society. In my term, I aim to inherit the excellent traditions and key initiatives achieved by our predecessors and elevate the society's status.

In 2021, the World Health Organization designated the theme of World Patient Safety Day as 'Safe Maternal and Newborn Care,' emphasizing the health and well-being of newborns and mothers more than ever before. Neonatal care has achieved remarkable progress over the past 30 years. Going forward, I plan to establish a foundation that can set new milestones of patient safety and quality improvement activities, building on my experience of the past decade,by systematically aligning them with the KNN project on a national scale.

회장 박 문 성

Korean Society of Neonatology The 15th President  Moon-Sung Park

As you are well aware, the national disaster caused by low birth rate-related issues poses a serious challenge to us. It has even evolved into a problem that directly affects the working environment within NICUs, impacting on our members. Our society will make its best efforts to address this issue through more proactive collaboration with relevant agencies. I kindly request your continuous interest and generous guidance.

Over the past two years, we have faced unprecedented challenges due to the COVID-19 pandemic, which has disrupted societal activities. We anticipate that this situation will improve in the near future, and normal societal activities can resume. By communicating and working together, we hope to find new courage and hope among our members.

I hope that our members will continue to actively participate in academic activities. I wish all members good health and good luck. Thank you.
